Diver Shoots Impressive Footage of Giant Squid

Near the coast of Japan, a scuba diver was able to make impressive footage of a giant squid on Christmas Eve. See for yourself and marvel at the creature.

"The Toyama Bay, about 344 kilometres (213 miles) to the north-west of Tokyo, is known as a breeding grounds for swarms of luminescent firefly squid, but it is exceptionally rare to see a giant squid swimming so close to the coastline", says scuba diver Akinobu Kimura to CNN.

Kimura swam close-by and filmed the squid of an estimated 3.7 meters (12.1 feet) long squid, before he helped escort the animal back to the ocean. It is the first sighting of a giant squid this season.
